Keep Waco Loud: City Growth Solid Gold Neighbor
Krista Brinser, Assistant Director,Community Relations
Founded in May 2019, Keep Waco Loud aims to empower and support Waco's music, art and comedy scene. Husband and wife duo, Jacob Green and Katie Selman, formed the organization after noticing a gap in local musical programming. Since their formation, they have rallied local musicians, comedic minds and more in support of their cause – not only enabling more performances around town, but bringing awareness to Waco's local talent across a variety of mediums through website highlights, including song of the week!
Almost a year out from founding, you can find Keep Waco Loud events around the city in a variety of formats. They work with local businesses and venues of all sizes to host musical performances, comedy shows, and open mic nights all over town.
As we shelter-in-place for the health of our community, many might be missing their live music fix. Don't fret – Keep Waco Loud has you covered! Tune in to their social media to get details about live local performances (music AND comedy) and how the community can support the artists and performers who define a crucial piece of our city’s cultural landscape.
Keep Waco Loud also hosts a podcast! The Keep Waco Loud podcast is available to stream online or through both Apple and Android podcasting platforms. Whether you are a seasoned listener or brand new, there has never been a better time to listen and learn about the local entertainment scene as the podcast hosts Waco musicians, comedians, artists, community leaders and entrepreneurs for conversation around a variety of topics, including the art of comedy and the gig economy.
Thank you, Keep Waco Loud, for providing our community with outlets for creative expression.
