Education
As the oldest continuously operating institution of higher education in Texas, Baylor has been a beacon for learning since it was chartered in 1845. Baylor and Waco work together to support public schools as the centerpiece of Waco’s educational system and the pride of our community, preparing new generations of Wacoans to propel our city into a bright future.
The Baylor Solid Gold Neighbor Initiative serves as a point of connection, coordination, engagement and innovation, helping to marshal the resources of the university in support of goals and opportunities that are important to our community. In regard to education, our intention is to work effectively with Waco ISD and numerous other community partners building up Waco as a learning community known for excellent schools.
