National Resources

National Resources are provided to enhance and grow the base of knowledge and access to key topics necessary to help nonprofits thrive.

  • Board Source: Provides knowledge and resources for nonprofit leaders through workshops, training, assessment tools, an extensive website and a membership program.
  • The CNM: Provides strategic data expertise and organizational assessments, environmental scans, strategic planning, board development, and any number of customized consulting services geared to strengthen nonprofit performance. CNM offers extensive curriculum in nonprofit organization management to help nonprofits build a strong foundation of operational and functional knowledge.
  • Nonprofit Finance Fund: Makes loans to nonprofits and works to encourage financial investment in the sector by providing a continuum of financing, consulting, and advocacy services to nonprofits and funders nationwide. Also organizes financial training workshops and performs business analyses and custom services.
  • The Performance Imperative: Provides a model for how the most well managed and responsibly governed nonprofits operate. Helps nonprofits collect board, executive leadership, and staff perspectives on their organization and analyze feedback to identify strengths and gaps.
  • Wallace Foundation: Strengthens nonprofit financial management by providing library of resources covering topics like budget development, cash flow projections, etc.
  • Racial Equity Tools: Provides free courses and modules educating managers and employees on racial equity
  • National Council of Nonprofits: Offers self-assessment tools for nonprofit boards, along with other resources and courses for boards and individuals aiming to start a nonprofit
  • Nonprofit Hub: Delivers a variety of quality content and information to assist and educate nonprofit organizations on best practices
  • Social Impact Exchange: Offers hundreds of articles, papers, books, and other resource on scaled social impact.
  • 501 Commons: amplifies the strengths of nonprofits by offering informational resources, learning programs, contracted financial services, human resources, technology, and data solutions, and broad array of management and technology consulting services
  • Bolder Advocacy: Offers a suite of organizational capacity assessment tools to help organizations evaluate their advocacy and organizing
  • Candid Learning: Curates resources and articles outlining information regarding lobbying and public policy for nonprofit organizations
  • Independent Sector: Provides advocacy and public policy resources for nonprofit organizations
  • Compass Point: Curates articles and resources for nonprofits regarding boards and governance, financial strategy, leadership, management, etc.
  • Beth Kanter’s Blog: Offers resources and articles outlining the creation of healthy nonprofit work cultures and management.
  • LinkedIn for Nonprofits: Provides a hub of resources for nonprofits to further develop their team and organization
  • Google for Nonprofits: Offers analytic tools and tracking metrics to help nonprofits efficiently run their organizations
  • YouTube Social Impact: Harnesses the reach and technology of YouTube to help nonprofits share their stories and missions across this platform
  • Communications Network Resource for DEI Work: Provides tools in areas such as brand management, communications, strategy and outreach involving racial equity for nonprofits
  • Nonprofit Outcomes Toolbox: Offers nonprofit organizations online tools and resources for managing outcomes effectively
  • Nonprofit Finance Fund: Curates resources, articles and commentary on financial strategy and management for nonprofits
  • Social Impact Architects: Highlights free professional services, technology and products for nonprofits
  • Foundation Directory Online: Offers a comprehensive database of grant-makers and grants available to nonprofits
  • Bridgespan: Helps nonprofit clients develop strategic planning skills for their organization
  • Equity in the Center: a resource that provides trainings to nonprofits to help them center race equity and build a Race Equity Culture
  • Sopact: a tool to help organizations measure social impact by directly involving their stakeholders
  • Social Impact.Tools: a tool to plan, measure, and communicate an organizations social impact
  • The Grantsmanship Center: a resource that offers training and publications to help organizations plan solid programs, write logical, compelling grant proposals and create earned income opportunities.
  • Indiana University Lily School of Philanthropy: a resource for organizations to develop new fundraising skills, and connect with more donors.
  • Texas Grant Resource Center: a resource for organizations to offer consultations and orientations for funding research, for both nonprofit organizations and individuals.
  • Samaritan Grants: a resource for organizations to write grants
  • M. Gale & Associates: a resource to help nonprofits create and execute successful capital, endowment or capacity building campaigns including planning, training, marketing, donor cultivation, and reporting
  • CNM: a resource for organizations to maximize nonprofit leadership, program management, nonprofit operations, revenue development, board governance, and community impact
